-This is a cover/shield to protect the derailleur of a mountain bike, it uses 3 zip ties and 3M double sided tape to secure it to the swing arm.

-(Edit: 25/5/2023) Added the “S” version, it's lighter and has more clearance for the chain, and it should be as strong as the original.

-(Edit: 3/6/2023) I added the “MCH” version, its a shorter and lighter version redesigned from zero so it has a different geometry, with less steep overhangs, making it easier to print with materials that can't use cooling fans like ABS.

-(Edit: 7/6/2023) Added the “MR” and MRS" versions, for me, the ugliest of all, but also the stronger ones because of the changed orientation when printing, the idea is to have the layers at an angle so it better withstand impacts. Also added two photos showing how this two and the rest should be printed.

-(Edit: 31/8/2024) Added the “SNC” version, a variant of the “MCH” that's easier to print and a little bit more tough. Also added the version “MCHM” a variant of the “MCH” but the idea of using it as a template to make a mold, so it can be made with forged carbon fiber. I also added the mold itself (Molde MCHC.zip). I recomend following the video of the channel Easy Composites Ltd to learn how to do it.

-(Edit: 11/3/2025) Added “R2CS” and “CUL” variants, also added a table in the description with the variants I recomed depending on the way you are gonna make it, this way is easier to choose and I dont have to delete the less useful variants in case someone wants to use them.

Method of fabrication:Variant Name:Material:
FDMSNCABS/ASA/NYLON…
Forged Carbon FiberMCHMEasy Composite Forged Carbon Fiber materials
Vacuum Carbon FiberCULEasy Composites Kevlar-Carbon Fiber Sheets.
SLS/SLA/Resin CastingR2CS

Amera Labs TGM-7 for SLA

Nylon 11 CF or Nylon 12 for SLS

Under Testing, no recommendations yet for Resin Casting

-From all the models the ones I like the most are “R2CS” and “CUL”, this two have the advantage of being fabricated with Proceses that avoid layer adhesion problems in the case of “R2CS” or go for classic and known CF in the case of “CUL”.

-Any suggestions, experiences or testing results  you have are welcome.

-3 to 4 perimeters, 20-30% infill, I use triangles, no supports needed.
I recomend ASA but you can experiment with any material.

-Print it with the side touching the bike on the build plate.
