Ikea Besta: Drilling jig old corpus -> new mounting bar

Marriage of old Besta corpus and new Besta mounting bar

We wanted to create some space in our daughter's room so we bought some used Besta-Elements (120 x 60 x 22 cm) to hang on the walls. I then bought the corresponding mounting bar from Ikea - and found out that the mounting holes from the Basta corpus we bought are not compatible with the new mounting bar I bought from IKEA. As the mounting bar contains the new mounting brackets as well the only thing left to do was to drill the holes into the old corpus at the right position. 

Say hello to my drilling jig to solve this problem. :)

Unfortunately I didn't have the time to take pictures from the jig positioned at the Besta corups as I had to hurry to put them up before our daughter returned home.

See my hand-drawn additions in the pic where the jig needs to be placed.

Printing

I used the following settings (in Cura):

• Standard Quality (0.2mm)
• wall line count: 2
• 20% infill
• PLA

Mounting Instructions

• Put the drilling jig to the upper end of the side wall pointing to the middle of the shelf (as I tried to depict in the picture :) ). 
• Use an Edding to draw two points for the drilling holes
• Remove the top plate of the shell to have free access to the drill holes
• Drill the two holes - be carefull not to drill to deep - otherwise you will performate the outer white coating
• Reassemble the top plate
• Assemble the two mounting bar holders (included with the mouting bar).
• Mount the mounting bar as described in the manual.
