This is a complete rework of an existing container @Matten79 made, that I have adapted for silica gel / desiccant rather than Calcium Chloride. It features a sturdy and printer-friendly design, multi-body lid so infill can be used to allow air in and out of the desiccant container, a nice non-intrusive fit, and a tight snap-fit lid. There is also a small groove at the top to place your fingers to assist you in removal. It's not just pretty, it's functional!
How'd you do the cool infill lid?
If you are pleased with how that looks, send it! The parts are pre-oriented in the STL for ideal printing. If you've got a quick printer, it should only take just over an hour or so. I recommend printing these parts in ABS or ASA as that will provide the most longevity for the parts because they will be located inside of a pretty hot filament dryer. If you're printing a material that doesn't shrink like ABS/ASA does, it might be a good idea to scale the lid down 0.5%-1%, as it is intended to be a pretty tight fit. (Trust me, you don't want to spill these things!)
Share your makes! Would love to see how these turn out!
