My spanner collection inside my portable toolbox was always a mess. Each spanner dispersed in the toolbox box and hard to find. My solution to the spanner mess is to bring them together into this 3D printed spanner carrier.
The spanner carrier is in two parts. The divider section holds the spanners in place, each spanner with its own slot. The second part is a clasp that fits over the divider clipping into position and keeps the spanners in the divider from falling out. The clasp is essential when storing the spanner carrier in the tool box.
As second clasp STL file is included. The second clasp is slightly bigger to handle spanners that are slightly wider, that would prevent the first clasp from fitting onto the divider.
The design is optimised for my set of 6 pieces Stanley Metric Open Spanner set, sizes 6 to 16mm. Care should be taken with other spanner brands and sizes. If the spanner is bigger than the slot in the divider section, it can crack a divider wall, ruining the spanner carrier.
The spanner carrier had to be solid and tough. This 3D print is made in PETG with 100% infill and works well in it's task.
I hope you can find this print useful, too.
My print is made in PETG 1.75mm filament, with 0.2mm layer height on a PRUSA I3 MK3S printer. I chose a 100% infill density to improve the divider wall strength and use the Aurarum Silver filament.
