GridFinity vase mode bins, which have two key features that distinguish them from other offerings I found: they are able to span multiple grid squares, and they can be printed in a single vase mode pass, no assembly required. To achieve this, print the bins with a large number of “solid” bottom layers. The model at those layers is actually hollow, rather than relying on slicer infill. Tweak the number of solid layers to get the desired number of floor layers, as in the included slicer picture.
The notches in the side walls add extra rigidity to the structure.
I've only included the STL for a 2x3 box as example. Please use the OpenSCAD code to generate boxes of whatever size you want. NOTE: the .scad file also requires the file ‘Vase Mode Single Cell.stl’!
I didn't thoroughly research which, if any, similar creations were already available, as I mainly wanted a simple project to get into GridFinity modeling. I did use parts of the "original" vase mode box by LittleHobbyBox, many thanks for creating that.
The author remixed this model.
