This is a Remix of the HexaLeS Lamp by ErikState (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5400473).

The main hardware is a Wemos D1 mini running the WLED software and a led strip of ws2812b leds.

I made some modifications to add a level shifter and a DC jack to the first hexagon. I also moddfied one of the bottom parts to hold a micro button (based on this design: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2293016). With this pushbutton the LEDs can be toggled on and off with WLEDs integrated power function. (needs a preset with T=2, see WLED screenshots).

Used electric parts (see picture):

  • Wemos D1 mini
  • micro switch 6x6x4,5mm
  • DC jack
  • 370 ohm resistor
  • logic level shifter
  • ws2812b LEDs from a strip (12 per segment)
  • cables

Wiring:

The connection from "outside" is done via a DC jack. The basic wiring can be found on the WLED site: https://kno.wled.ge/basics/getting-started/ I use a 3 ampere power supply. This is enough as not all LEDs are lighted up at full brightness and white at the same time normaly.

In addition I'm using this addition WLED functions:
the D3 pin for connecting the push button

With the use of the LEDFX application the leds can also be controlled by music / sound wireless.

For more details and variants in length, please see the original thing.
