This is a re-upload of my low-effort hinge mod that I posted on TeamFDM.com.  These models were derived from two excellent hinge mods that I very haphazardly slicer-spliced together.  At the time of initially posting this, I had no CAD skill, but even still, all credit for the design of the originals goes to their respective owners.

I'm just a lazy dude that wanted a little bit of each of these hinge designs for my V0 and I couldn't find it online.  I wanted removeable hinges for my voron panels that didnt require any modification to the panels.  So I combined Alexander T. Moss's brilliant clamping hinge idea with this amazing removable doors mod by ElPoPo.  I just swapped the hinge attachment points of either part and merged them in my slicer before re-exporting.  I did the same to the hinge mounts, but with the slot-in tabs for a 1515 extrusion.

The only reason I even bothered to post this is for the odd chance that someone is less motivated than myself and also looking for something similar.  Alas, this is now the path of least resistence.

For each hinge unit, you will need:
1x M3x30 bolt
2x M3x6 bolts
2x M3 nuts
a small strip of double-sided VHB tape

To assemble:

  • Put the M3x30 bolt into the larger hole on the Hinge Clip Front component and drive the screw as deep as it can go.  About 10mm of the bolt will stick out of the bottom.
  • Add the VHB tape to the non-nut side of the Hinge Clip Back where it would touch the panel.
  • Add your 2x M3 nuts to the nut side of the Hinge Clip Back
  • Put your panel between the Front and Back Hinge Clip components.  Make sure the VHB tape is touching the panel
  • Bolt the front and back hinge clips together with the M3x6 bolts.  Rinse and repeat for every hinge you plan on adding.

The double-sided VHB tape is strongly recommended on the inside of the Door Clip Back component to get a more reliable grip on your panel.  If you don't add that, you'll spend a considerable amount of time fussing with it.  I learned this from personal experience.

The  "click and print" files are pre-arranged build plates of the parts you need.

*If your slicer asks, you want all of these parts to be loaded as a single object

The v0 version has all 6 parts layed out so they can fit on a 120mm v0 build plate.

The V2.4/Trident version has the minimum 12 parts layed out and pre-mirrored for a left and right door on a larger printer.  They should all fit on a 180mm buildplate

If you want to DIY-print these parts the hard way:

You will need 2x 1515 door mounts and 2x of both door clip assemblies for the V0

You will need 4x 2020 Frame Hinge Mounts, 4x Door Clip Back components, and 4x Door Hinge Front components, however, two of Door Hinge Front components will need to be mirrored so they can be assembled properly.
