I know most people want to use the Mantis toolhead to reduce toolhead weight and print faster, that was why I did it. I also really liked the new Voron Design TAP nozzle probe though so I wanted to be able to use my Mantis toolhead with TAP. Mantis uses it's own carriage design and by itself is not compatible with TAP - so I modified the Mantis toolhead to allow it to mount to the reference Voron TAP carriage.
Print Settings
Print with normal Voron print settings. I printed it in Polymaker ASA with no supports, if you have weak bridging performance you may need supports for the part of the model that slides over the screws to wedge under them.
Compatibility
This is a direct plugin between Mantis and TAP. I did not modify the TAP design, and the Mantis design modification was purely to make screws line up etc.
The adapter plate for the extruder is unique. My design is for the LGX Lite Extruder + Phaetus Rapido UHF hotend. If you are not using these 2 items this will not work for you as designed. The non-UHF Rapido may or may not work due to hotend total length offset.
Performance Impact
If you're using a Mantis toolhead and you add TAP to it, you will take a speed hit due to weight addition. I personally did too many modifications on my Voron to quantify exactly what to contribute to this specific aspect of the overall system, but be warned you for sure will have degraded input shaper read outs going Non-TAP to TAP.
