For a total saving of a whopping… 36 grams.
At least it's a quick project! And a 78% weight reduction for these pieces alone is alright. These will all add up in reducing ghosting at high speed printing.
I've never had issues with my wheels coming loose so there are no locking features in this design.
Print tips:
Insert a pause command to insert the M4 nuts into the part as seen in the pictures.
If you have difficulty with pause commands, I've also included a version where you could push the nut in afterwards - should be a press-fit. No support should be necessary.
Pick your material suitable for the print environment. PETG/ABS/ASA for enclosed printers, PLA is fine for open printers.
You could potentially scale this to work with other nut sizes.
