As everyone i try to keep my Filaments as dry as possible for clean looking prints. Until today i used vacuum bags. One for each filament i have. This is always timeconsuming and anoying to pack or unpack the spool of filament bevore or after a printjob. For a long time i wanted to use my Alutech-Box as a filament storage and needed it to be airtight for that. So i decided to desing the inserts myself and glue them to the inside of the box to seal of the grip holes.
Nothing special is needed for the strucktural settings of the part. Just use your standard Slicersettings and PLA as material.
To print the Overhang properly i used the automatic Supports from PrusaSlicer2.6.0a5 and organic supports which worked out perfectly. See the 3mf-file for reference.
As i designed the inserts i started using double sided tape to make sure everything fits. For a permanent bond i used glue for hard plastics which makes a bomb proof connection. The brand i am using is UHU. Let the glue cure for 24h and your gripholes are sealed and strong enough to lift the fully loaded box.
Let me know if you would improve on something or if anything did not work out for your make. And of course let us see your make of this model ;-)
