Print instructions

Anticovid-19 3D printable respirator

The respirator is supposed to be use for individual protection of healthy people.
Do not use a respirator for patients with a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of infection.
The respirator is intended to use at your own risk. I made it for myself and do not give any guarantees for possible health damage and effectiveness against viruses!

Operating principle

  • input filters provide filtering within their capabilities.
  • the outlet valve provides air exhaust during exhalation. This option minimize moisture accumulation inside the respirator.

Benefits:

  • the ability to install combined two-layer filter. You can use any available effective filters like HEPA or even
    non-traditional materials
  • easy to disassemble for disinfection before reuse
  • the respirator during manufacture is adjusted to the profile of the face.

Disadvantages:

- must be disinfected after use.

Manufacturing:

1) Print all the elements.

2) Use soldering station or another hot air source to warm up the mask plastic and adjust the respirator a face shape.

3) Apply soft silicone along the edge of the respirator for more comfortable contact with the face.

2) Cut filter elements. I used affordable materials having air filtering
properties: HEPA paper, cotton pads, etc. The diameter of the filter element approx. 42mm.
3) Install filter elements.
4) Cut and install the valve disc into the lower hole. You can use thin rubber or any smooth
plastic sheet material: polyester film, polyethylene. The outer diameter of the disc is 28.5 mm.
5) After assembly, try on a respirator and check for air leaks.

Disinfection

  • take off and disassemble the respirator using plastic gloves. Dispose of replaceable filters
  • put all plastic parts into soapy water. Wash them and then rinse with cold water.
  • put all the parts under UV lamp or dry in the open air under sun light
  • use an alcohol antiseptic for desinfection
