This is a replacement D-Pad for the Kobo Wifi e-reader, model N647B.
You may also need to replace the power button, see this thing!
Printing notes:
Using TPU is ideal as it will provide a texture closer to the original D-Pad.
I've not attempted to print/use this with other types of filament, including PLA.
The FreeCAD model is provided, in case you want to Remix it!
Affix silica beads
You need 5 silica beads* to affix in the 5 pockets underneath the part. The silica beads should protude slightly from the part. These are to provide optimal button-press (click) feedback.
*Silica beads are those tiny beads inside anti-humidity packets that are often found in retail boxes. Their size is not standard so you may need to sift through a few to find some that fit snugly.
Double-tape
The new D-Pad doesn't clip in place or anything, so it may need some small strips of double-tape underneath to keep it from falling out.
The author marked this model as their own original creation. Imported from Thingiverse.
