alpokemon did a great job modeling the outside shape of the 'Among Us' characters (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4595212); however, the joinery I felt could use some improvements. I changed the Legs, Heads and Guts. The major changes are that this version can be used with or without magnets using the same parts; no need to choose between different parts. This was done by making the "guts" taller such that they protruded slightly into the head part which constrains its movement without additional pegs. I also correctly sized the magnet holes to fit 4mm diameter by 2mm tall disc magnets. All of these joints have improved tolerances as well; making the model much less frustrating to assemble (and minimizing the amount of post processing required).
Assembly:
- glue the visor into the head (this never fit quite right -- but with dabs of glue on the edges of the visor, it will join fairly reliably, just allow it to cure/dry by placing it on its back).
- optionally glue 4mmx2mm disc magnets into the head and legs.
- place the guts into the legs
- then push the bone into the hole of the guts; this will seat into the legs via friction and will hold the guts and bone in together.
Supports / Bed placement:
- The head and legs should be placed on the bed where they join together (some supports from the bed do help under these pieces)
- The bone should stand upright with supports from the bed surface.
- The visor should sit on the bed in the same orientation that it is on the character. While there is only minimal bed contact, the surrounding supports should be sufficient (so no brim is needed in additional to the supports).
- The guts can be printed without any supports!
