The latest iteration of the Blowie hot end shroud is here!(Blowie Mk2, Blowie Mk1)
It's compatible with the MicroSwiss direct drive plate for the CR10 and with a MicroSwiss full metal hotend.
The hot end shroud features a wedge lock that in combination with one m3 screw hold in place the whole shroud and part cooling duct and fan, this means easy access to your hot end for cleaning, changing nozzle or upgrading components.
There are holes for zipties for cable management and also a strain relief feature for the corrugated tube.
In this iteration I changed the approach to the part cooling fan, leaving space in the front of the nozzle for ease of cleaning and visual inspection.
The Z offset on my machine is about Z -1.73mm, although this may not be true for you, so calibrate your own Z offset by starting high (M851 Z +10) and then manually jogging as close as 0.15mm to your print bed and adjusting the Z offset accordingly.
The part cooling duct it's the trickiest part to print, I provided both the complete one and one vesion that's split in two for ease of printing, the two parts need to be sanded and glued together with some cyanoacrylate glue
For mounting the “BlowerMount” you'll need to 2 pieces of 1.75mm filament with a lenght of 5mm each, these are used as locating pins, after inserting the filament pin into the “Hotend Shroud” you can use cyanoacrylate glue to fix in place the “BlowerMount”.
I suggest to print all of this parts with heat resistent plastic (ASA PETG ABS etc.) and with 100% infill.
