I always hated how my Tronxy x5sa mounted the filament runout sensor SO FAR from the actual extruder when you upgrade to direct drive. I imagine this is an issue for other direct drive upgrades so I created this. it's a lightweight housing for moving that sensor MUCH closer to the extruder. In the case of the Titan Direct Drive upgrade for the Tronxy you can actually connect it DIRECTLY with a 12mm Bowden tube (seen in the photo). I also made the bowden connector much stiffer so it didn't back itself off, and added a smoother filament path so your filament doesn't snag on the way through.

I designed it around the standard sensor that came with my Tronxy which seems to be pretty popular (https://a.co/d/ewnaDde) but if you don't already have a sensor that looks like that you can pick one up on Amazon (https://a.co/d/bV9f8tt). I've also included the f3d file if you'd like to mod your own version, please just attribute me in your post!

TL;DR

  1. Smaller/Lighter Weight
  2. Mountable directly to direct drive extruder
  3. smoother filament path
  4. more secure flexible mounting
