Mouth stick as an operating aid for the keyboard in DIY for people who do not have arms or can not use them because of a disability, illness or accident or only to a limited extent. The mouth stick consists of:

  • Mouth piece, 3D printed
  • Round rod 8mm, approx. 28cm long, wood or plastic
  • Sleeve for rod end made of plastic or rubber

The round rod made of wood or plastic as well as the sleeve for the end of the rod are available at any major hardware store.

When printing the mouth holder yourself, make sure that you print with a small layer height (≦ 0.1mm) and a PLA plastic without additives to keep it as food safe as possible. The small layer height prevents nucleation in the grooves. The fixture should also be cleaned regularly with water.

Filament:

PLA, white or PETG

Attention: Use a filament that is food safe or at least does not contain any toxic additives.
