Summary

This print allows a Masterforce Washable HEPA filter to be used with the Ryobi vacuum. The filter model number is WHCF and its Menards SKU is 2405252.

Ryobi doesn't seem to make a HEPA filter for it and although I've seen some try to use a Milwaukee M18/M12 HEPA filter, that filter seems to be just a little too tall and the washable version is more expensive.

To use this design, just print filter_adapter.stl, filter_cap.stl, and filter_ring.stl. You'll need to insert a 5/16"-18 x 1/2" hex bolt into the filter adapter and then snap it in to replace the original float ball basket with it. Place the filter ring on the foam using the tabs as a guide, slide the Masterforce filter over, and then screw the cap on to tighten the filter down.

I included a variant of the adapter called filter_adapter_spiral.stl that uses a different design. This didn't work as well as the filter_adapter.stl design for me (due to more curling of filament during printing), but I included it as an alternative.

The filter basket was held on sufficiently by the three tabs on the vacuum for me, but you could also choose to secure it further by using a zip tie or hose clamp. The filter ring provides a better seal by adding a continuous ridge between the rubber on the filter and the foam.

Print Settings

I printed with Inland PLA+ with 20% infill and no support.

The cap should be printed upside down so the top of the cap sits on the print bed.

The filter basket should be printed on its side, rotated so that one one of the vertical support beams is against the bed (for better adhesion to the bed). It should also be rotated so that bolt insertion point is above its center point. See the image of the filter basket on its side for the suggested print orientation. I printed with no supports and got a bit of stringing on the top portion that didn't interfere with the function of print.
