While I enjoyed using my older model of ammo box, I certainly realized some of its shortcomings.
First and foremost I hated that the lid would lose guidance somewhere around the penultimate row of rounds - I usually like to slide the lid for only one row and let five rounds fall into my hand. That's why I made the open end much thicker, so now the lid stays in guidance a little longer.
I also added another two locking detents to keep the lid from opening involuntarily.
Another feature I sorely missed was the capability to easily remove a full tray should you need to (an empty one can easily be taken out by its holes) - that's why I added a notch, where you can grab onto the tray with the tip of a knife, a screwdriver or maybe a car key.
Further improvements include an overall thicker wall as well as cosmetic ribs on the box, a fancy text-and-image combination and very pronounced crescent ribs on the lid to facilitate opening and closing.
The author remixed this model.
