Looking for a quick and easy print to store your laptop vertically? Oh, you also need the stand to be adjustable for laptops of various sizes? Well, you're in luck! With this customizable laptop stand you get all of those features and more.
We've even made space for an accent button so you can customize the stand to truly make it your own. To help get you started we included two accent buttons, but can't wait to see what else you come up with.
By happenstance, we also discovered that laptops which have a 180-degree hinge can be placed so that the screen is at the perfect viewing angle when sitting on your desk. Making for a sweet multi-display configuration.
Bill of materials:
This is a perfect print if you are trying to finish a roll of filament. At just 100 grams of filament that also means the cost to print is less than a cup of coffee. Other than the filament the only thing you may need to purchase would be some self-adhesive foam. This can usually be found in a hobby or big box store and is pretty inexpensive. Optionally you could also purchase self-adhesive rubber feet for the base.
Printing instructions:
We printed our example with a 15% infill. However, if you would like a little more heft then feel free to increase the infill density. The accent buttons were designed with a color change in mind. For our example accent buttons, we set our color swap to happen at 4.2 mm. If you want to design your own custom accent button take a look at the specs below.
Assembly:
Assembly is pretty simple. Place the shoe in the bottom of the stand while aligning the upright with the hole in the shoe. Then take one of the supplied screws, feed it through the upright, and tighten everything into place. To adjust the width simply loosen the screw and slide the upright into your desired position then retighten the screw. We know that you want to keep those nasty scratches off of your beautiful laptop so we would encourage you to place some type of soft material on the uprights. In our example, we're using self-adhesive foam.
