Repair of a Balbo Slim Light spa/poll light.\n

The original pool light is poorly constructed and consists of an inferior LED unit (no regulation). The material combination of aluminum and brass has led to corrosion and water ingress. Since the light costs almost 300 euros, here is a repair suggestion.\n\n

Open and clean everything. Remove the boss from the aluminum body, 30mm opening.

Since a rear seal is not necessary, a cap is designed here that also functions as an LED carrier.

Commercial G4 round modules are used. I took a 24mm module because the 30mm modules are too bright. These LED modules have a decent controller with AC/DC already on board.\n\nThe cap is simply attached from behind. The flange and the aluminum housing are glued with epoxy and then reinstalled in the tub.

If problems arise again, you only need to pull off the cap from behind and you have access to the LED module.
