One of our cats insists on destroying the paper towels kept on the kitchen counter (a wall-mounted solution was not possible as the counter in question is part of the kitchen island).
Holder is composed of 3 parts: Base, Shell, and Top. As the shell exceeded the maximum height for my printer, I cut it in half and used connectors using Prusaslicer 2.6.0 alpha4.
Assembled diameter is 170mm, height is 343.771mm. I assume it will fit a standard roll of paper towels? My wife would be the one to ask about that.
Printed without supports with .2mm layer height.
*** 03.13.2023 - Update -
- Added step file for the complete assembly.
- Added stl of the shell after being cut in PrusaSlicer. Unfortunately, after cutting and applying connectors in PrusaSlicer, once exported as an stl, the information/geometry for the connectors is lost - only the cut pieces of the original object are retained. I labelled them ‘upper’ and ‘lower’ but assuming PrusaSlicer cuts exactly in the middle by default, the two halves should be the same, but better safe than sorry, so I included both. These will work fine without connectors if you are confident in your choice of glue.
- Added 3mf of the shell cut with connectors from PrusaSlicer. I do not know how this will behave in other slicers. The connector holes do not show on the 3d preview here on the website since PrusaSlicer defines the geometry as ‘Negative Volume’, but they should be present if you open the 3mf using PrusaSlicer. The two halves will be too large to print on most printers, you'll need to delete one or mark it as not ‘Printable’ then vice versa for the second.
