Update 8/18/21 V2.5 is out, which I believe to be even better than the V2: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/74193-v25-better-xacto-knife-handle
Update 2/25/21: I changed the design a little bit so that the small part that the blade is pushing against is a little wider, hopefully making that part a little harder to break
Update 1/19/21: I recently discovered Extra Fox has created a wonderful cap for this design and I encourage you to print one for your new Xacto knife: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/49128-better-better-xacto-blade-holder-cover/comments
This is V2 of my Xacto knife handles, which are an attempt to mitigate some issues when printing the longer V1 handle. Like V1, these two handles (short and long) compensate for an Xacto blade's angle, making the cutting edge in line with the handle. This is better when doing precision cutting as it keeps the point downward without the need to uncomfortably shift your hand.
Intended to be printed vertically, V1 tended to slightly wobble as it got higher, due to the small contact patch, as well as having a tendency to snap along the layers when any considerable force was put on it. This new version prints flat on the bed, so it's stronger and has no z-wobble, AND it prints 45 minutes faster compared to V1.
Use an M2x6mm bolt, M2 washer, and nut to secure the blade. There is a small amount of material you need to cut/drill out of the hole; for those curious, it's there to allow the screw hole to print cleanly without supports (credit for that idea goes go Maker's Muse).
