LED Strip Mount 3030 RatRig V-Core 3

This model is inspired by the great work of eddietheengineer for the voron LEDs. Thanks Eddie for the inspiration.

(It's not a remix, i started from scratch for my RatRig V-Core 3)

Check out Eddie's work here:

What do I need to build this?

  • As many LEDs as you need on a WS2812B LED strip with a spacing of 16.6 mm between the LEDs
  • Something to power and control the LEDs, cables, …
(For details, search on youtube. There are great tutorials on this online. I control my LEDs with a Raspberry Pi Pico with Klipper flashed on it. The Pico is then added as an additional mcu to my main Klipper Raspberry Pi 3B+)
  • The printed parts

What do I need to print?

(This is just an example for 10 LEDs, adapt to your needs)

Attention! You need to calculate the length of the holder to fit to your amount of LEDs!
(<Amount of LEDs> + 1.5) * 16.6 mm = <length you need>
( 10 + 1.5 ) * 16.6 mm = 190,9 mm

You should be fine with something that's a bit longer or a bit shorter. The important thing is, it should have at least some length inside the endcaps to grab and hold everything down.

For the 10 LEDs in this example, you have two options:

Option 1 (no LEDs in the Endcaps, like the one on the pictures):
  • 1 x LED Strip Mount 3030 RatRig Endcap Right
  • 1 x LED Strip Mount 3030 RatRig Endcap Left
  • 10 x LED Strip Mount 3030 RatRig
  • 1 x LED Strip Mount 3030 RatRig 1 LED Holder Template
(calculate the length of this part)
Option 2 (LEDs in the Endcaps):
  • 1 x LED Strip Mount 3030 RatRig Endcap Right
  • 1 x LED Strip Mount 3030 RatRig Endcap Left
  • 8 x LED Strip Mount 3030 RatRig
  • 1 x LED Strip Mount 3030 RatRig 1 LED Holder Template
(calculate the length of this part)

I think you got it.

How do i assemble it?

Please look at the pictures. It shoud be straightforward. The only thing to be aware of is, many parts have a very tight fit. That's on purpose. The last thing we want on our 3D printer are loose parts that rattle ;-)

What's your Klipper config?

Please read the docs and use my config only as an inspiration! Your config will look different!
