Originally posted by TagFerret, long before 3d printing was common. From his page:

"Sometimes it is possible to knock your Tagger hard enough (or swing it up or around fast enough) to force the batteries on the left side of the Tagger to compress the spring at the front end of the battery tray. When this happens, the batteries break contact from the other end, which is the +4.5 Volts which feeds the processor. The result is often a "lock-up" of the processor, forcing users to reset their Tagger. This is a big pain in a hosted game. A simple solution to prevent this from happening is to fashion a little spacer to keep the batteries pressed back towards the user on the left side. It has to have a little cutout in the center for the spring to poke through."

That page is only accessible via the Internet Wayback Machine, which I recently found when someone asked me about the mod because the link no longer worked. Of course, this is a perfect thing for 3d printing, and with a few simple measurements, the CAD was done in minutes. One prototype that was too thin, and then the final version posted here.

This will work on all Lazer Tag Team Ops Deluxe and IRT-2X battery trays. Some early LTAR battery trays can benefit from this as well. Print one for every battery tray you have, two couldn't hurt.
