In addition to my printer in the enclosure, I also wanted to isolate vibration through the enclosure as well. So I modified the feet for the printer box to accept a 50mm x 50mm square of sorbothane pad.

Shopping List

  1. Sorbothane Pad (.375in, 4in x 4in, 50 durometer).
  2. 3M double-sided adhesive tape.
    • This just makes it easier to install, the pads will likely still be removable.
    • 3M 9490LE (0.5" width x 5yd length).

Installation

  1. Cut the pads down to 50mm squares.
  2. Remove the old feet, but retain the fasteners.
  3. Install the 3M tape.
  4. Install the feet with the existing fastners.
  5. Peel the 3M tape covers.
  6. Peel the protective coating off the sorbothane.
  7. Stick the sorbothane pad to the foot.
  8. Repeat for the three other feet.

Tips

  • Sliced file for example only. Slice to your own best standards or following Printer-Box's printing guidelines.
  • You will need to choose which side up you're going to print, either direction I'd recommend using supports.
