This is another example of a cat toy that is safe for cats. The top and bottom are both flat, so there will not be easily accessible strands of filament that may be there if it is rounded at the top. The bottom is slightly rounded, but with adequate cooling and lower layer lines there will be no overhangs to cause issues. It is not easily breakable, and there are no parts that could be easily lost or swallowed.
I buy my cats plenty of toys with bells, fun stringy stuff, squeakers, etc. and the stuff they play with the most seems to be solid items that they aren't supposed to play with. Today one of my cats really wanted to play with a baguette that I really wanted to eat. Now he has his own baguette.
