Hello All,
PLEASE NOTE THIS FRAME AND BLADE WERE PRINTED WITH 100% INFILL @ 80% SPEED (you may have to adjust the smaller pins to feed 2.8mm diameter while mine fit snug w/ that .stl feel free to do what feels best for the knifes rotational ability)
If any of you printed this knife like me but don't feel like leaving your house to finish this knife if you don't have the screws? Here's the solution, I took the counterweight cylinder included in this project and made it into a pin system for the balisong blade attachment points. Included are both files for the upper pins and lower ones. No need to go to the hardware store or anything - quick 5 min print from your house and it's all set. If you enjoy please like and share :)
Printer Brand:
Prusa
Printer:
I3 MK3S
Rafts:
Yes
Supports:
Yes
Resolution:
0.15mm
Infill:
20% - 100%
Filament: Sunlu PLA+ Grey
Notes:
Fits frame and blade w/ 100% infill print (these bolts are 20% infill though - I did 100% to add extra weight to the frame - may need a slight adjustment on lower bolts to 2.8mm on the X and Y axis to fit properly)
Supports are not needed if you trust your adhesion - but I would put supports everywhere and brim on to ensure the bottom layer sticks, especially if printing at 100% speed - 80% is recommended though.
Hotend should be anywhere from 210-215 for Esun/Sunlu PLA+ or 220 for Prusament PLA
Bed temp set at 60
Keep first print layer pretty low as the heads on the bottom bolts will rip off if not too careful - my plate adheres exceptionally well, however though.
20% infill
Supports on-base only w/ brim for better adhesion to screw tops
*Print and Slice with Bottom Screw attachments flat on the head and print up at 80% speed.
*Print and Slice with Top bolts flat on one end so the pin prints vertically at 80% speed.
