No wind direction, as it's intended for a balcony.

Uses M5 threaded rod and nuts. If you want to build it, consult the included FreeCAD files for exact dimensions of the flower pot trays. The electronics (beside sensors) are housed in the bottom cap, there's enough space for a small Arduino or ESP8266 module. The anemometer is fitted with three neodymium magnets glued 120° apart to glide above a hall sensor, likewise glued.

The bearing is ceramic one from a fidget spinner, it's standard size (22mm). Do not use grease, it will slow it down too much!

Rain shouldn't get in, unless it's nearly horizontal due to strong wind. I've now had it outside for 2 months and so far so good.
