I own a StarSense Explorer Dobsonian and wanted to be able to move the StarSense Smartphone Adapter over to my Celestron 15x70 Binoculars

The original docking bracket is pretty much hard screwed onto the original Celestron Dobsonian and obvious problems adapting it to a tripod, so;

I found the best way to do that was design my own smartphone adapter dock that I could just print off and attach to any of my other larger Dobsonian finderscope brackets or in this case my Celestron Binoculars, then simply move the Celestron StarSense Explorer Smartphone Adapter over to the new bracket and leave the original bracket on the original Celestron Explorer.

I have designed it so it fits on a longer dovetail which your Binocular tripod bracket should be attached to.

The hole/slide to attach the base to the dovetail is 9mm ID. I have simply attached it via a bolt and wingnut, for easy removal etc.

Minimal supports needed.

The side thumb screw support hole is 5mm from the original adapter. I found a 5-6mm bolt basically self threads itself through the filament in the hole, so no actual guiding thread needed.

The top attaches to the base via a M5x15>

This works really well together with binoculars. I aligned the binoculars with the tip of a tree a fairway off and found the comet c/2022 e3 (ztf), pretty easily along with other stargazing objects I just wanted to be pointed to without spending a lot of time searching for.

If you are after an attachment for a finderscope bracket on any other telescope, here is the alternative,
