Routers are risky bits of kit, use at your own risk.

I didn't want to spend the 40-50 euro's on the makita straight edge fench so I have started designing my own.

The idea is that there is some striping within the model roughly indicating how far the fench is from the routers axis. Then by using M8 threaded rod you can further fine tune the distance.

Print this in a solid material. PLA at 20% infill is not what you are looking for. Ideally you print it solid from a material like PETG.

Plungebase model was taken from someone else and is not my design. I have uploaded this seperatly for anyone interested.

Revisions

  • V1 - First model
  • V2 - Improved version
    • made a smaller hex so that the nut stays in. Changed from 13mm to 12.7mm
    • Reduced width of threaded rods to better fit in the router base.
    • Tickenend the base after running into issues when routing a step in a block of wood that was 12mm deep.

Revisions are stored in the archive folder.
