Configurable Filament Spool Holder for Ikea Skadis

Customizable spool mount adapted for the Ikea Skadis using the Ultimount connector. Remixed from the 1 & 2 Spool wall mount model by Joesn.

Comes in 2 pieces for easier, support-free printing, along with 2 support pins (you can either use these, or create your own pins using a cylinder object @ 3.85mm diameter and 11.5mm length.

Included variations

• 80mm - a single standard 1kg spool
• 100mm - 2 small 250g spools
• 140mm -  2 standard 1kg spools

(obviously, this is based on my own spools, I suggest measuring the height of your spools, and add ~10mm to allow for a little wiggle).

Parametric / Configurable

3 default sizes have been provided (the base and pins fit all sizes). The Onshape below provides an easy configuration to create even more variations.

(note, with the current model, 80mm is the smallest width permitted in the model).

Printing

The base and the main holder are best printed with the pin hole side facing down. I would advise using 3 shells/walls, using a infill designed for strength (eg gyroid) and using an infill of approx 15% for the main holder and 25% for the base.

Assembly

Using the alignment pins, assembly should be straight forward. Insert the pins into the holder (make sure they go all the way down), add some adhesive (CA/Super glue or PLA Gloop etc) and join with the base. Once cured, add the mount pegs and you're done.
