18" recurve bow with detachable string, replaceable limbs and several arrow points.
Perfect for shooting at cardboard boxes indoors: archery-dart (dartchery) with friends, competitive target practice, and other archery based games.

Instructions:

Bow
Straight-forward print-and-screw-together assembly
  1. Print riser in PLA or other stiff material with at least 15% infill
  2. Print limbs in PETG at 99% scale and with enough perimeters to be solid (use limb-fit-tester to verify the fit before printing the limbs)
  3. Use 2 x M3*20 to secure the limbs to the riser (M3*16 is also fine)

Remember to unstring the bow when done using it, to make the limbs last longer.

String

Regular kitchen/butcher's twine, fishing line or similar can be used

  1. Print 2 string-stoppers
  2. Cut a ~50cm piece of selected string material
  3. Put both string stoppers onto the string with the flat sides facing each other
  4. Tie a knot in each end with ~40cm between

Arrows

Regular 25-30cm wooden grill skewers are great mini arrow shafts and are easy to obtain. I've bought some that are ~3mm in diameter, and some that are ~2.5mm. I have included points for both these sizes. The straightness can vary a lot in a single pack, so it can be worth sorting them and using the most straight for arrow shafts.

  1. Print arrow point - field points for cardboard boxes and blunt points for cans and similar
  2. Cut of the pointy part of the grill skewer to create an arrow shaft
  3. Mount the arrow point to the shaft. Friction seems to be enough to hold it in place, but glue can also be used

The blunt arrow points can be used for miniature combat archery, but remember eye protection. Could probably be printed in flexible filament to be even safer and less painful.

Target

Just cardboard boxes, optionally flattened. A single layer of painters tape or masking tape will improve the longevity of the box and make the arrows sit a bit more firmly in the target.
Print the included target faces (dart.svg and fita.svg) on A3 or A4 paper and attach to the cardboard box using tape.

Disclaimer

Shooting a bow - even a miniature - can be dangerous, especially for eyes! Please always use caution when shooting the bow and never shoot at animals or people without safety equipment, such as proper eye/face protection
