My Tarmo5 gearbox was filling up with dirt and grass so I tried to close up some of the openings. My first version vibrated enough to loosen the motor screws. So I added a bearing and at the suggestion of “Liouma”, I added a flexible motor coupling.
You will need 1 additional 24x15x5 bearing, and 3 - M2.5 x 8mm socket head screws to attach the hex adapter to the motor. The motor coupling should be printed with TPU-95. I used 3 walls and 50% infill. The dampener ring should be in PLA or Nylon and then glued to the motor coupling. I used Nylon for the gears but that may not be necessary. Also included is a gearbox where the 1mm thick bottom section is now 3mm thick since my first one buckled. And just for good measure, I threw in a Back Bumper. :)
Let me know how it works for you and as always… Thanks, Kris, for sharing this great project!
