In all the Zelda games, rupees have been the currency of Hyrule. They are gems of different materials denoting different values but all sharing the same cut.

The denominations changes a lot in the early games. I think, it is now settled to the following:

  • Green = 1
  • Blue = 5
  • Red = 20
  • Purple = 50

Other values are still changing colors frequently.

Variations

The classic rupee has a pointy cut. But you could turn the stone 90° and make a "flat" version. Or, you may cut it roughly the same size and create a “round” gem. Both alternatives are present as STL and 3MF files.

My Intention is to use them for board games. Therefore, I also created variants with embossed monetary values … only for the classic shape. But with the SCAD file you can make whatever comes to mind.

Printing

Depending on your printer and where the slicer places the start of a layer, you may want to use supports. All my G-code files use supports.

I think they look best when printed in PETG because it is usually translucent.
