In the spirit of Valentine's Day and self-love and self-care, bath bombs are a new staple but they often sink to the floor of the tub before they're done. I prefer watching them disintegrate on the surface, so I made this!
Ideally, you would make this with water-proof PETG or ABS but I only have PLA to work with (at the moment), so I printed it with Cubic infill at 5%. It floats in room temperature water with an object up to 39 grams in weight (the weight of the mushroom dish brush in the image gallery).
I'm in the middle of spraying the PLA with Gorilla Waterproof Patch & Seal Clear Liquid today (to waterproof it, and possibly further protect it from warping under hot water); and curing it completely takes 24 hours, so stay tuned for new images tomorrow where I test it out in a real bath + a piece of Lush bath bomb 🛁🥂
Edit 2/15/2023 It worked! Woohoo! No warping and floats all around great. I'll upload the video in a sec. PS sorry for filming vertically; I'll remember to film horizontally in the future
