This is keycap in the shape of a spool of filament for the people who like 3dprinting and want to show it off on their keyboard. Fits on cherry mx style keyboards.
Revision 2:
After some feedback i have revised the model, resulting in revision 2
Changes from Revision 1 :
There are three variants of the filament spool ftom which you can create the filament spool keycap. There is a version with a hexagon patern, a version with four slots and a version with closed sides, depending on the brand of filament you like.
Further there is the option for the hight of the keycap. There is either a 15.5mm high option labelled HP and a 12mm version labelled LP. Depending of what you want chose the LP or HP version of the filament part.
It prints in 4 pieces that friction fit together. None of which need support. You will need to print the two spool halves from the variant you want, the filament according to the hight you want and the stem holder. You can press the two halves of the spool in the filament en press the stem holder in one of the sides of the spool.
The only thing you now have to do is to find a color for the spool and filament and nice spot on your keyboard.
I have printed everything in pla at a layer hight of 0.1mm with a 0.4mm nozzle
The hexagon patern spool needs to be printed at a very low firstlayespeed and smallperimeter speed to print correctly.
If you have some elephantfoot it might be nessecery to cut it away if it doens't fit propperly, because the tolerances on the holes are pretty tight.
