The Geberit DuoFresh module is a clever solution to filter out smells in your bathroom with its recirculating system equipped with activated charcoal filter. When our Geberit DuoFresh module notified us that the filter replacement is due I was shocked by the price of the original module (Part No. 243.970.00.1). So I started thinking about creating an alternative but equally useful option for less money. That is how this print was created.

Assembly

  • You can buy activated carbon granules in big quantity for very cheap in pet stores, just google it.
  • Print the Bottom and the Top piece of the cartridge.
  • The Insert piece is optional, it is an experimental feature to separate mode the inner channels of the filter. As I am also testing this model this may change when I optimize it.
  • Fill the Bottom part with activated carbon granules. Make sure the granules don't fall out of the cartridge.
  • Put on the Top piece and put the assembled cartridge into the foam gasket peeled away from the original charcoal filter. (See photos.)
  • Slide the cartridge into the blue adapter and examine if there is no big “holes” in the assembly where air can escape without filtering.

Printing

The parts should be printed from PETG, PLA or ABS. No special settings needed just a well calibrated printer.

Source files?

I included the Fusion 360 .f3d source files for easy modification. Including source files is cool :)
