My main goal for this design was to create an anatomically proportional model to display necklaces to help women gauge how well a necklace lays when wearing.
I isolated the torso from a female obj model (https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/free-obj-model-realistic-white-male-female/1094197), and created a base and an insert on the model (1mm tolerance) to accept it.
The model is 260mm tall (about 10.25") and the base allows the bust to stand 35mm higher at a total height of 295mm (about 11.5").
I'm also including a model with dowel holes in the back so that you can adjust the hanging height of the necklace, The holes are 5/16" to accommodate a 9/32" or a 1/4" dowel, and are angled downward at a 15° angle to prevent the necklace from slipping off.
I also added a hollow base mod with lid and two 38mm tall inserts so you can store your necklaces, or whatever else inside.
Torso:
178mm wide
147mm deep
260mm tall
Base:
137mm wide
116mm deep
90mm high
Printing:
When I sliced the torso, Cura said it would take two days and 1kg of filament (with the experimental option “make overhang printable" and no base) so … I haven't printed one yet.
The author remixed this model.
