After a frustrating spate of layer shift failures in the shop, we identified wonky old flash drives as one contributing factor to corrupting G-code files. We replaced them with fresh drives and told clients to follow a strict digital hygiene regimen: only use the drives associated with a particular machine, and only for printing. Along with other remedies, this has virtually eliminated layer shifting.
But how to tell which drives belong to specific machines at a glance? We have 6 FDM printers and 3 resin printers. Enter this lovely name tag.
