my printers the creality ender 5 plus, i have the spider v3 hotend and the spirite direct drive extruder, this wont fit with this mod right?

With all said and done...thank YOU! For my set up it took too long to figure out and it was a heavy setup. I wasted a lot of plastic printing the wron parts its hard to tell which parts worked for my setup. It was also difficult to take apart if you have a clog. I got it working then I switched to the Satsana and made my own remix that fit my redrex dual gear. Way lighter and easier to put together. It is also worth mentioning that the model is set up to work with the original ender 3v2 backplate. It won't work well with the Creality direct drive backplate.

Another year, another lack of official updates. Join the Hero Me Community Discord to get free build help and use my Hero Me Builder to protoype your next build!

I was going to start on printing this model for my BIQU B1, so i did a rational thing that is to assemble on cad model to check tolerances on my system.

There's issues right now, i will remix the parts later, but for understanding this is happening:
- The Hotmode USB-C as in for now, sits lower than the original B1 model, this could prove an issue regarding the X axis endstop. (first picture, the orange is the original B1 board mount)
- Again, talking about the USB-C, the cutout for the cable it is not centered, so it wil not fit.
- (3rd picture) HMG7 (green) nozzle ends around 8mm forward regarding B1 original endpoint, this is easily fixable shorting the lenght of the grantry standoffs.
- Also it's been noted that also lands almost 2mm lower than the B1, this could be related to the lower position of the hotmode on the grantry adapter part.
- Final point, what are those holes on the USB mount? this has me lost.

None the less, i will proceed on remixing+fixing this issues and building it on the B1 since the modularity of this hotend looks very promising.

@Lincer556_275022 did you ever work it out? we'd love to see your remix over in the community discord https://discord.gg/QHKqQrvzZv

@Decuhh_947031 I'm still working on it on some finishing touches, however i've changed the printer to a E3-V3 so i will not be able to test the prints.

Not my best work not gonna lie, cable management can be way better, but when its 5 am, you gotta do what you gotta do right! :P

I’ve always enjoyed the Hero Me upgrade, and this one was a nice upgrade for my 2017 CR-10. I did want to share some feedback on a few difficulties I ran into during assembly.

First, the Creality single-gear direct drive mount. The all-metal extruder mount is a tight squeeze and leaves very little room to insert a Bowden tube between the hotend and extruder. Raising it slightly would help a lot. It would make installation and maintenance easier, because right now if I get a filament jam it’s going to be a pain to take apart.

The heated inserts also gave me some trouble. Because of the print orientation, the holes don’t always come out perfectly round and feel a bit undersized. This can be fixed by boring the holes slightly for the inserts, but I think a little more tolerance in the design would help.

Lastly, the ADXL mount - the solder pins on the back of the ADXL stick out and keep it from sitting flat. If you mount it as is, it ends up crooked. I worked around it with washers to space it out, but a small groove in the model for pin clearance would be an easy fix.

All that aside, I do enjoy the unit and I’m impressed with the engineering that went into it. Thanks for sharing it!
