I can't tell whether this is the coolest model I've made, or the dumbest. It is a wing section that you can put on your hand with the idea of putting it into a stream of air for playing with aerodynamics.

This is modeled after the tip of the wing of the F4U Corsair fighter from World War II. An attempt was made to use the correct airfoil (NACA 23015), although it might be a bit chubbier in the center to accommodate my hand. It is approximately 1/10 scale, if my figures are correct.

I have included both the “clean” model and a model with two attachments points for wrist straps to prevent the model from leaving the “wind tunnel."

Disclaimers:
1. Sticking your hand out of the window of a moving car is, in fact, not the safest thing you can do. Do so at your own risk.
2. This is much larger than your hand and an actual airfoil. Using it at highway speeds may create forces beyond what is safe and fun to handle.
3. I accept no liability for damage to car paint, windows, or wrist ligaments.

I think early tests should be made in front of a fan in the safety of a living room or other non-vehicular area.

I also think it would be great fun to play with in a swimming pool, perhaps drilled and filled with resin to decrease its buoyancy.

Future models to come (I have to do a P-51, don't I?) and will be available via Patreon first.
