So to start this model i wanted to make a docking station for my laptop because it has a small screen and i use it instead of my PC so connecting my laptop cable by cable soon became annoying so i designed this:
Well by god miracle my printer decided not to work so the next day while i was fixing it i came to conclusion that i don't need this fancy piece of plastic for my laptop to fit or whatever i just need to connect a few cables in one go and use laptop stand if i need to, and that is where this design comes.
Simple yet effective design, i planned to glue USB and HDMI but because it was tight fit i didn't need to, and for power i used design two M3x8mm screws for holding it in place and it worked like a charm.
There are two versions of power holder design
It uses simple two screws for holding it in place, there is a little distance between the printed piece and holder because of tolerance of connector, so just screw it and stop before it breaks.
This design is best used if you don't plan on removing it for a while, because you would need to unscrew the screws and that will even damage plastic and it won't be usable anymore.
This design even tho it has two holes requires only one screw and few M3 washers, screw one hole in with a couple of washers and what is important is that the piece can move so it is a lot easier to remove, just slide the piece and remove the cable
Nothing really to say about it it is pretty simple here are sketches:
you can probably use this design with similar laptops but i didn't test it and can't confirm yet, if i confirm some i will write them here.
and that is about it if i remember something i will add it later, print it and tell me what you think, if you need bigger holes or have an idea or anything really just message me and i will reply as soon as i see them. Thanks for reading
