So you bought a brand new electric vehicle, but something feels missing? Worry no more, as this model brings the satisfying experience of a manual shifter back in your car. Printed without supports, this model fits into your car cupholder and imitates the motion and snapping of a real gear stick. It's an easy print - and a fun one! The only extra hardware required is a couple of elastic bands and some kind of glue to hold some parts of the "gantry" together (check instructions in the dedicated section). Have fun and drive safely!

Post-Printing

To assemble the complete model, you'll need all the printed pieces, some glue and some rubber bands. The glue is needed to hold gantry_front_side and gantry_cap together, but make sure no glue gets on the central pole, onto which the lever must be mounted (see CAD screenshot above). Once this assembly is complete, connect it to the cup with a couple pieces of straightened filament pushed through the holes in the cup into the ones on the two gantry_caps. Lastly add some rubber bands around the lever, hooked to the poles inside the cup. Then close the cup with your preferred plate and you're ready to play!
