The Legend of Zelda: Wingcrest (Remix)

This is a remix of Llaurik's The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Crest Keychain which has been cut into separate parts for multi-extruder printing.

Updated July 3, 2020:

I received reports that the original models I posted were not slicing correctly in recent versions of PrusaSlicer. Rather than try to fix up the messy cuts I made to the original model, I chose to rebuild it from scratch in Fusion 360. The updated stl files are error-free, and slice properly. The bonding between parts has also been improved by adding internal overlaps/pegs. The Fusion 360 source is available in the files section for anyone who wants to tweak the design.

Original Release:

This was done in a bit of a hurry, so the cuts/patches aren't the greatest, but everything stitches together quite nicely in Slic3r and Cura. It makes a great hanging ornament, but I don't recommend this version for use as a keychain, as the bond between the different colour segments is likely not strong enough to withstand the daily abuse that most keychains endure.

Please be aware that this remix was not designed to be printed in pieces on a single-extruder machine and assembled afterwards. Use Llaurik's original model to get everything at once in a single colour.

Print instructions

The print in the cover photo was done on a quad extruder Prusa i3 MK2 MMU as follows:

• wingcrest_body.stl silver PLA (extruder 1)
• wingcrest_triforce.stl gold PLA (extruder 2)
• wingcrest_wings.stl white PLA (extruder 3)

When printed at 100% size, the model measures approximately 62mm x 50mm.
