PLEASE, NEVER REMOVE THE FOCUS WHEEL WHEN THE TELESCOPE IS POINTING DOWN! (on Maks and possibly SCs the main mirror can drop and be damaged)

To prevent the rotation of the tube I use a zip tie, see image above.

This is a stepper motor focus assembly for the Celestron (or Skywatcher) Mak 127. It is Arduino based and provides ASCOM drivers for controlling it. Have a look at: https://sourceforge.net/p/arduinoascomfocuser/wiki/Home/

Via Ascom and a live view you can even have temperature compensated automatic focussing.

My controller als includes a dew cap heater and a Bluetooth connection for controlling it wireless.
