I have used here in Sweden Hovsö containar of 1.5 L, but this information can't help you. By help of the provided pdf file you may easily find appropriate container in your local store. You can search on Aliexpress or Amazon. My mother kept her sewing thread in a plastic box from Tchibo from the early 1970s her whole life. I modified the design a little (negative volume in the slicer, as no STL was available) and continue to treasure the box, but now I can see all the spools of thread clearly. Great idea, and thanks for publishing it. (edited)

Printed in black ABS on first try overnight, on silent. Now I need a holder for spools like on the left in the photo.

Had problem with weak base, you can see two spikes broken off, I had to strengthen them using glue.

Thank you for your comment. Explanation to your problem may be 0.3mm print. I suggest and sliced for 0.2mm. I have printed several pieces without any issue.
Now model is updated to ver. 1.3 with more reinforced pin base.
Works perfect with differet typs of thread spools.
Printed with Bambulab PLA Basic Silver. 0.2 mm layer height.
