DISCLAIMER
This design is load-bearing and will likely be installed in a heated environment. It is recommended to print these parts with PETG, ABS or ASA.
PLA is weak against both load and heat, therefore it's highly NOT recommended.
-------
This is my iteration of a PS5 under hanging mounting solution. It used material as little as possible while still being secure.
This mount is designed around the IKEA Algot shelfing unit (which is now discontinued), but is also compatible with normal screw mounting. Please use screws with a thread diameter of 3mm when mounting to solid material.
This design was originally targeting the Disc version. Thanks to @Lemanito, the Digital version has been verified as well.
-------
The box bounding the 4 screw holes is strictly 40x6.4cm.
The minimum required height for all mounting options is 13cm.
The distance of 94mm to the front will make the front side of the PS5 flush to the edge of the mounting surface. If you don't mind your PS5 protruding from below the panel, you can shorten it to your liking.
The minimum distance of 180mm to the back is to ensure that you can still plug in cables into the back of the PS5 and should be considered.
This demonstrates the layout when you are mounting to an IKEA Algot perforated panel (60x38cm).
Count from each side as shown below to find the hole location for mounting.
This is the recommended layout for ordinary mounting. The space requirement is 60x36cm, in order to conform to the recommended ventilation spacing from Sony.
This is the absolute minimum mounting space requirement. This is not recommended unless the space around is open - otherwise you risk overheating the PS5.
-------
Print the parts in the suggested orientation. Printing in a wrong orientation will badly impact the structural strength and endanger your PS5.
Left Arm:
Left Silder:
Right Arm (need support):
Right Stopper Piece:
Clamps A/B (need two sets):
Through-mounting Brackets for Algot (2x, Optional):
4 sets of M3x12mm hex screw and nuts (for Algot through-mounting, might need longer ones with other types of panels), or 4x normal screws with a 3mm thread diameter for solid mounting from the bottom
2x M3x20mm hex screws for attaching the slider stump to the PS5 and locking the stopper piece.
-------
With one M3x20mm hex screw, attach the left slider stump to the bottom of the PS5. Note the arrow on the side indicates the UP direction.
Slide clamp pieces A and B all the way into the slots on the top of each arm. Note the orientation and names of each piece.
Demonstration of mounted arms:
------
Slide the PS5 horizontally in between the mounts.
You will need to force the slider stump into the slider channel on the left arm. The arm will have to bend slightly outwards to allow the PS5 in. This might be a bit difficult with solid mounting. You may loosen the mounting screws slightly so the arms could provide more give.
After the left side is inside the sliding channel, slide the PS5 all the way in until it is naturally stopped by the claws on the right arm.
Insert the stopper piece all the way into the slot on the right arm.
Then, drop an M3x20 screw down into the hole on the right arm to lock the piece in place. There is no need to tighten the screw.
The PS5 is expected to have a few millimeters of play if you attempt to shake it, but won't be able to fall out of the mount.
