double ended jar ring and mason jar planter seed starter

This double ended coupler will allow you to make a mini green-house planter out of two standard mouthed mason jars. Designed for Ball and Golden Harvest regular mouth Jars, but works for many others. Place these two pieces together with water in the bottom and seeds in a sterile absorbent material (not soil, that will mold) in the holder cup to get them started in their own miniature greenhouse. I expect there will be a number of remixes for different hole sizes, but these 2mm holes should keep in many types of seeds and absorbent material. If you're using a non-sterile substrate media (dirt) , you may want to include some cinnamon to inhibit fungal growth (We all saw what happened in The Last of Us!). 

PLA is safe for food, however the porous surface of FDM printing makes it hard to keep sterile, just to settle any concerns you may have about growing with it. Good luck!

Printed with 0.2mm layer height, 3 layer wall thickness, 20% density single layer infill (or 5% density 2 layer infill), and NO Supports.

Though this is not made using or remixing lucythemaker's design, her video on tiktok is the original inspiration for my design accomplishing the same function. I hope she'll appreciate the improvements I made including better grip on the ring, the cup sized so it is locked in by the upper jar, and angular design that allows it all to be printed without supports.

Edit (2/6/2022): Some people have reported an issue with the cup breaking as it is separated from the build plate. If you're not using a PEI flexible plate, you may want to print with a raft.
