Cylindrical Tensile Bar

This model is for a standard tensile test specimen with geometry in accordance with ISO 6892-1:2016.  These are typically oriented vertically or in the axis with the weakest mechanical properties. This is one of the types of witness specimens I use on the Bambu Lab X1 Carbon when printing with BASF Ultrafuse 316L filament. Depending on the geometry, I may also include rectangular section tensile bars corresponding to a critical section thickness on the part. After printing, the specimens stay with the part through debinding and sintering for subsequent destructive testing to verify finished part mechanical properties.
