This set includes:

Ultra Foam Roller - For general massage and muscle maintenance. This roller is big and comfortable.

Ultra Mini Foam Roller - For a more focused experience, this roller is easily transportable and roughly the thickness of a standard foam roller.

Ultra Micro Foam Roller - For the most targeted massage, this roller is perfect for upper neck massage, QL pressure points, or seated posture correction.

All versions should be printed with 92A-95A TPU for the cushion, 2 perimeters, 6 top and bottom layers, and 10% CUBIC infill. The inner support ring should be printed with 3-4 perimeters. I've tested in PLA and PETG with success for people weighing up to 250lbs. I have not tested with higher weight individuals and cannot guarantee safety for any user.

Additional printing notes:

I’ve tried several different types of infill, infill density, and wall thicknesses.

  • These rollers depend on having a blend of softness and toughness that can be difficult to get just right. The key is fully enclosed air cells inside.
  • Gyroid infill is not recommended as it does not enclose pockets of air and will make the rollers feel like flat tires.
  • More than 2 walls makes the outer surface too hard. Less than 2 does not guarantee closed air cells (Flat tires).
  • Infill density greater than 10% is not recommended. It will make the roller more firm, which is fine if you like rolling your back on a tire.
  • 6 top and bottom layers is recommended. This allows both ends of the roller to have similar deflections, feeling “even” while in use. Less than 6 top layers does not guarantee fully enclosed air cells on the top.
  • Softer TPU does not guarantee a softer cushion. Harder TPU decreases friction with the floor, resulting in a roller that wants to escape when you try to use it. Harder TPU is also harder on the back.
  • Once complete, the foam roller will feel different throughout the year. During the warmer months it will be softer and a bit tackier, both are good things. During the cold months, the rollers will be a bit firmer and have a little lower friction.

Following these recommendation, you should be able to print all 3 cushions from 1kg spool of TPU and .5-.75kg PLA/PETG
